Update

Has it really been nearly three weeks since I've blogged? It would seem so. If anyone is still out there reading, here's an update. We've been busy.

We got moved into our 3BR place but have yet to really settle in. Most of our stuff is still in the garage because Shawn hurt his back moving, and I've had too much else going on to go get any of it. I really need to though. I mean, our beds are still on the floor...um, yea...anyway.

Our eBay store is now open! At Once Upon These Days we'll be selling modern and vintage toys, Legos and more. Please stop by, we can use all the traffic we can get! I have a ton of stuff to clean, photograph and get listed, so stop by often.

We've decided to go a few extra semesters with Ashley's school so that we can complete some more courses required for universities. For her 12th grade language arts credit we found a super cool course called Movies As Literature, which when complete will give her an AP credit. She'll also be doing Writing Strands 5 & 6 for an elective credit. Additionally, we're shopping for a Latin curriculum that will give her 2 foreign language credits.

Aspen is now working in Get Ready For The Code, a prereading course that goes with the Explode the Code reading program. For math we found a super cute addition card game that she enjoys playing, and we'll be adding unit studies in science and other subjects as her Kindergarten curriculum. She turned 5 on March 17, and I just can't get over how the time has flown by!

Little Abby is four days shy of 8 months today. That sounds like a long time when you say it, but it feels like it's gone by in the blink of an eye. She is talking, standing and trying to walk. She shows a definite preference for regular food over baby food, and sticks to me like glue. She'll go to Ashley and Shawn for a while, but gets upset if Mommy is away from her too long.

We love being back in our favorite part of town! We've enjoyed the library, train museum, consignment store and much more since moving back. Aspen is delighted to have a playground right behind our building and tons of kids in the neighborhood to play with. Shawn's job is settling down now, and he's slowing getting the place under control and back up to his standards.

My parents are visiting this week, and I've been really enjoying their company. My mom would like to move here, and we're hoping to convince my Dad. I've been helping my Mom get her new book Soul Sprouts, a delightful collection of children's prayers and her art to go along with them. Please stop by and check it out!

That's about it for now.

Sunday Scrappin: 03/07

It's Sunday again and that means it's time for Sunday Scrappin'. This is a GREAT way to get inspired, meet other crafters and share your creations, so please drop over and join today!

I've recently gotten back to digital scrapbooking after budget issues curtailed my paper projects. I love digital just as much as paper really. I was able to devote a good bit of time to scrapping this week. We had a few nice days and Ashley was able to take Aspen to the playground during a few of Abby's naps.

My TA-DAs are:

Abby recovered quickly from her unfortunate defeat by gravity, by the way. The scratch was gone by the next day.

My TO-DO's for this week aren't specific. We'll be getting ready to move across the hall to our 3BR place, yay!! Then next week my folks are coming and it will be Aspen's 5th birthday on 3/17. We have a lot to do to get ready for all of that, but I hope to still squeeze in time for scrapping.

My Daybook: March 1, 2010

This is a wonderful meme from The Simple Woman. If you haven't visited Peggy's site I highly recommend it. Her philosophy is just what the stressed-out mama needs to slow down and appreciate the simple things.

My Daybook

For today....March 1, 2010

Outside My Window...nice weather today, but back to cold tomorrow. Anxiously awaiting Spring.

I am thinking....about life's ups and downs and how much more aware of life's rhythms and cycles than I used to be.

From the learning rooms....still shopping for Aspen's K curriculum. Still trudging through Algebra 2 with Ashley.

I am thankful for...oue 3BR apartment that we can move into 3/13. It will be so nice to truly get settled.

From the kitchen...still enjoying yummy stew hubby made on Sunday.

I am wearing...jeans, sweater, socks, shoes.

I am creating...a new collection and hopefully a new biz venture. Please stop by.

I am going...to bed soon, I hope!

I am reading... This Old Toy

I am hoping...Kelly's birthday box makes it to her by Wednesday, her 21st birthday!

I am hearing...Aspen and Ashley playing, Abby gently breathing as she sleeps in my arms.

Around the house...it's messy now, even with most things still in boxes and bins.

One of my favorite things...hugs from my kids.

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week: a trip to the library, Ashley is attending a class on picking your college major, eagerly watching the mail for some goodies I got on eBay.

Here is a picture thought I am sharing... Instead of a pic today, I want to share this video of guitarist Pete Huttlinger playing one of my favorite songs, "Darcy's Guitar".

Have a blessed week and visit us often!
